Ireland-6 Irish Animals

The best time we had with animals was on our drive around the Ring of Dingle. Ricky recommended that we stop along the drive at a spot where for €2 we can see Beehive Huts and hold a baby lamb. Needless to say, Susan really liked the baby lambs!

Then we stopped at another spot where we could buy lamb food (a real thing?) for €1.

Notice the lamb food on his nose.

We stopped on the drive around the Ring of Dingle to look at the view, and Susan ate a snack. This seagull demanded some of Susan’s snack. She acceded to the bird’s request, but then was upset when she pecked her hand. Lambs are much nicer when eating out of one’s hand!

Her picture of Ms. Bird. Looking at this picture now, Susan says she looks mean.

My glamour portraits of Ms. Bird.

We took a boat trip out onto Dingle Bay, where there is a dolphin named Fungie who greets the boats. Fungie is locally famous and even has his own Wikipedia page.

On our way to Bonane Heritage Park, we drove on a small road and saw a horse and her foal. The horse was very interested in me until she figured out I was not carrying any carrots.

When we visited Muckross House, we also visited their Farm where we saw a lot of animals.

Ducks, in formation.

A proud rooster.

Pigs.

Goats and Sheep.

And an amazing turkey, with black feathers dangling from his chest.

Turkey video….

And finally, in St. Stephens Green park in Dublin, we came across this seagull that sounded like a cat…
