Alpine Loop Fall Foliage

We took a day trip to what is known locally as the Alpine Loop to see the fall colors. We entered the Unita National Forest near Timpanogos Cave National Monument, and followed the narrow two lane highway up to the high elevations. We then headed down the mountain past Sundance Ski Resort. We basically drove around Mount Timpanogos. It must have 20 years ago that we hiked Mount Timpanogos. It has an elevation of 11750 feet, and it took us all day for the 15 mile hike… We were exhausted at the end of the hike, and we were much younger then. Beautiful views from the top!

Here are a couple of pictures.
